When considering this treatment, understanding the different stages involved can help you feel more confident and prepared for your journey to a restored smile.
Consultation
Your journey begins with a consultation, where your dentist will assess your oral health and discuss your needs and preferences.
Impressions
Next, we take detailed impressions of your mouth. These moulds are essential for crafting them so that they fit perfectly, ensuring both comfort and functionality.
Bite Registration
During the bite registration stage, we determine how your upper and lower teeth align when you bite down. This helps create a denture that provides proper bite and balance, ensuring a natural feel.
Try-In
At this point, you’ll try in a wax model of your dentures. This trial allows adjustments in fit, appearance, and comfort before finalising the denture. Your feedback during this stage is key.
Fit
Once your they are complete, they are fitted for you. Your dentist will ensure they feel comfortable and will provide guidance on care and maintenance for long-lasting results.
At every step, we prioritise your comfort and satisfaction, ensuring that your new dentures enhance both your smile and your quality of life.

Yes, they can be fitted to receding gums. However, the condition of the gums and jawbone will affect the fit and comfort of the dentures. Receding gums may cause changes in the structure of the mouth, and adjustments may be needed to ensure a proper fit. In some cases, implant-supported ones can provide additional stability for individuals with significant gum recession. It’s important to consult with your dentist to determine the best denture option for your specific situation.
A denture is a removable prosthetic device designed to replace missing teeth and restore the function and appearance of your smile. They are typically made of acrylic or metal and are custom-fitted to each patient’s mouth. They can replace all teeth (full dentures) or just a few missing teeth (partial dentures). They help with chewing, speaking, and maintaining facial structure, improving both aesthetics and functionality for those with tooth loss. Regular adjustments may be needed for comfort, especially if there are changes in the mouth or gums over time.
To clean them properly:
- Remove and rinse them after eating to remove food particles.
- Brush daily with a soft-bristle brush using a non-abrasive denture cleaner. Avoid regular toothpaste as it can be too harsh.
- Soak overnight in a denture-cleaning solution to help maintain shape and cleanliness.
- Rinse thoroughly before wearing them again, especially if using a cleaning solution.
Additionally, be sure to clean your gums and mouth before putting dentures back in place. Regular cleaning helps maintain hygiene and prolongs their life.
